“The Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) is the result of a collaboration between Minnesota schools and the Minnesota Departments of Education, Employment and Economic Development, Health, Human Services and Public Safety, which work together to implement, analyze, report and fund the initiative.

It is administered every three years to 6th-, 9th- and 12th-grade students and also is offered to students in area learning centers and to youth in juvenile correctional facilities. Questions are asked related to both the home and school life of students; topics include family relationships, feelings about school, substance use, wellness activities, and more. Participation in the survey is voluntary, confidential and anonymous.”
