The Difference Starts Here
The Juvenile Justice Coalition of Minnesota seeks to create the best juvenile justice system in the United States for all young people and impacted communities. We focus on positive outcomes for youth, victims and communities; utilizing evidence-based research and practices; ensuring fairness and due process; and promoting rehabilitation of youth and public safety.
We are change.
The Juvenile Justice Coalition of Minnesota (JJC) focuses attention on Minnesota’s juvenile justice system. We strive to facilitate state and local improvement efforts so all Minnesota youth can become successful adults by preventing their entry into the justice system or ensuring any involvement causes them and their community no additional harm. The JJC is an unincorporated association of juvenile justice related professional organizations, state agencies, leaders and stakeholders.
By serving as an innovator and convener, the JJC brings together Minnesota’s juvenile justice community to create a model Minnesota juvenile justice system. We build and support the capacity of local communities and state systems to use best practices in their work with all youth and insitute shared outcomes. We offer shared learning opportunities and resources that create awareness, increase efficiencies and build collaboration around juvenile justice issues.
Key stakeholders representing state agencies, professional association and advocates in Minnesota’s juvenile justice system provide leadership, guidance and accountability for our work. Interested individuals and organizations can join the JJC as members, participate on our listserv and serve on committees. JJC serves as the Minnesota member of the National Juvenile Justice Network in Washington, DC.
